Five Kingswood-Oxford School girls’ varsity ice hockey players have been selected to participate in the USA Hockey 2010 New England Girls’ Festival March 28-30 in New Hampshire. 

According to K-O head girls’ varsity ice hockey coach Josh Brandwene, the top 70 players from each age bracket in the New England district are selected to participate. 

Junior Emily Howard of Terryville and sophomores Emily Ford of Glastonbury and Colleen Marcik of Madison were chosen for the U-17 team. Freshmen Laura Hamilton of West Hartford and Meghan Lembo of Southington were selected for the U-15 team. 

The competitive tryouts included girls from Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. Selected top players from the festival will be invited to the U.S. National Development Camps during the summer of 2010.
