Wednesday - February 03, 2010
|
Children and families can spend Sunday, February 7 from 10 a.m.–noon with Elmo, Batman and a Disney Princess at the Mandell Jewish Community Center’s Character Breakfast to celebrate the Family Room Parenting Center’s third birthday. A magic show with tricks and illusions by Derek Whitneck will also be featured at 11 a.m. in the Chase Family Gallery.
Whitneck has been entertaining audiences with magic and comedy for nearly 20 years. From large stages to private events, he has performed for the Hard Rock Café, Coca Cola and Pfizer.
During breakfast, children will decorate tiaras, crowns and wands and enjoy face painting, stories, balloon animals, arts and crafts projects and more.
The Mandell JCC’s Family Room Parenting Center is a free drop-in center that provides a space for parents to spend time with their children and learn how to be better parents through enrichment programs offered. The Family room features Jewish family holiday programs, Shabbat dinners, playgroups and interactive classes.
The Character Breakfast is open to the community. Tickets are $25 per family and are on sale at the Member Services Center in person or by phone, 860-236-4571.
The event will take place at the Mandell JCC, Zachs Campus, 335 Bloomfield Avenue. For more information call Jane Pasternak at 860-231-6342, send her an email or visit online.
