Two Russian subs attack Islamic State in Syria with Kalibr cruise missiles

Two Russian submarines, the Velikiy Novgorod and Kolpino, attacked Daesh terrorists in the vicinity of the Syrian city of Deir ez-Zor with Kalibr cruise missiles from a submerged position on Thursday.

The projectiles destroyed control centers, communication hubs and arms dumps being used by the terrorists, the regime said.

The Russian government has aided Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in targeting the group, also known by the acronym ISIS, for two years.
