3 security personnel martyred in terror strike at J&K's Pulwama


At least two gunmen entered a police camp in southern Pulwama town firing guns and grenades at the sentry, said Director-General of police S.P. Vaid.

Additional reinforcements have been rushed to the spot and entire area has been sealed off, sources informed and added that the operation is underway.

Rising Kashmir hs learnt that the body of the militant is yet to be retrieved as intense exchange of fire is going on.

Three Indian troops have been killed after several militants launched an attack against a military base in Indian-controlled Kashmir، local media reports said.

According to police officials, in the pre-dawn attack three militants stormed the police complex. The terrorists are belived to be associated with Pakistan based terror outfit Jais-e-Mohammad (JeM). Rebel groups demand that Kashmir be united either under Pakistani rule or as an independent country. The central intelligence agency and the Jammu and Kashmir CID have been alerted about Jaish planning another attack in state. Many others forces personnel were injured.

"You can not prevent [an attack] if somebody is ready to die".

The militants are now holed up in the complex, with no hostage situation being reported.

J&K Director General of Police S P Vaid, while speaking to ANI in the evening, said the encounter is in the final stages and expected to conclude shortly. He was hiding in the washroom in the building. However, security officials said that there is no hostage situation, as the families in the building were evaluated while the operation was being conducted.

The exact number of attackers inside the compound is not known, India's federal home ministry said in a statement.
