Steve Martin's 'Meteor Shower' Will Bring Amy Schumer to Broadway

Amy Schumer is hitting Broadway in Steve Martin's new smash comedy, "Meteor Shower" to come out at the end of November.

Producer Joey Parnes announced today that Tony Award-nominated playwright and comedy-world icon Steve Martin's new play, Meteor Shower, will premiere on Broadway this fall in a production starring Emmy Award-winner Amy Schumer in her Broadway debut; Emmy Award-winner Keegan-Michael Key, also in his Broadway debut; Tony Award-winner Laura Benanti; and Alan Tudyk; and directed by four-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Zaks.

She'll play the character of Corky in the show, who alongside her husband invites another couple round for an unforgettable and quite unconventional dinner party. Schumer will play one half of one couple alongside Alan Tudyk, and the other couple will be played by Tony victor Laura Benanti (Gypsy) and Keegan-Michael Key of "Key and Peele". Schumer and Key will be making their Broadway debuts. "He is my friend and I just love him and can't believe I get to be in his play on BROADWAY!" Meteor Shower will be his second Broadway production following Bright Star, whichenjoyed a short Broadway run in 2016 and garnered Martin two Tony nominations. And when I started to think about who everybody is [in the play], that's when it got worthy.

The play had its world premiere in San Diego previous year at the Old Globe theater, where the cast included The Office's Jenna Fischer, along with Greg Germann, Josh Stamberg, and Alex Henrikson.

"Meteor Shower" kicks off its Broadway stint with previews beginning November 1, ahead of its November 29 opening at Manhattan's Booth Theater.

Meanwhile, Amy is now shooting a new comedy called "I Feel Pretty", having also completed work on "She Came to Me" starring Nicole Kidman and Steve Carell and the military biopic "Thank You for Your Service".
