Canelo says Vegas bout will prove superiority to GGG

UNIFIED middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin has hinted at the possibility of retiring from boxing after his September 16 meeting with Canelo Alvarez in Las Vegas. "But this is boxing, not soccer, it's not a game, this is a fight and every fight is very hard", he said earlier this week.

Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez took time out to speak about his upcoming Middleweight mega-fight with Gennady Golovkin and why he's determined to cement his legacy on the sport.

GGG is one of the more powerful punchers we have ever seen, however, Canelo is maybe equally as powerful. But he's smart enough to know that, against someone like Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, he'll have the battle scars to show what he had to go through to get there.

In Golovkin, he'll meet a fighter in pursuit of his 19th consecutive middleweight title fight victory, two short of Bernard Hopkins' record.

"The fans know. They know what they're going to pick", Alvarez said Tuesday at he and Golovkin's news conference at Madison Square Garden.

Alvarez's confidence is such that he dismissed the suggestion by his promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, that the Alvarez-Golovkin rivalry seems bound for a trilogy given the high talent and entertainment of the two aggressive fighters.

Several weeks before however, UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor, and undefeated prizefighter Floyd Mayweather will step into the ring at the T-Mobile Arena for a boxing match that is being dubbed the biggest fight of all time. If you want to watch a show please watch them, if you want to watch a true fight, a true boxing fight and you respect boxing, watch my fight with Canelo.
