Trump to Announce Decision on Paris Accord Soon

Recently, it was reported that Donald Trump was preparing to pull the US out of the Paris Climate Agreement. The exit could take as long as one to nearly four years.

World countries and climate change activists expressed concern at the prospect of the United States withdrawing from the agreement under the presidency of Trump.

He will announce his decision in the White House Rose Garden at 3 p.m. Thursday, he tweeted. The tweet closes with his now-famous slogan of Make America Great Again which has been his rallying cry on his overseas trip, while threatening to level the playing field with the German auto industry.

White House officials cautioned that details were still being hammered out and that, although close, the decision on withdrawing from the 195-nation accord - agreed to in Paris in 2015 - was not finalised.

Trump is expected to announce later this week that he intends to pull out of the landmark Paris agreement.

A coalition of USA based companies banded together to run a series of ads that stated their opposition to pulling out of the Paris Accord, citing a better U.S. economy if the country remained within the Paris Accord.
