WWE Raw results, review: Roman Reigns eliminates Braun Strowman in odd show

Unless the WWE wants to put him in a match with Brock Lesnar without any lead-in, the WWE needs to find a new number one contender on Monday Night Raw.

If strong in-ring work and very little focus on advancing storylines is more your cup of tea than Monday's episode of Raw, which aired on tape delay from London, was right up your alley.

It was quite obvious that Ambrose and Miz would be setting up matches for each other, so Ambrose broke the seal on that by putting Miz in the first match of the night against Finn Balor. RAW General Manager Kurt Angle was so impressed with Ambrose's ideas for matches last week, that he made a decision to give the champ control of the show for the night. Kalisto, who was destroyed by Strowman a couple weeks ago, shows up and challenges Strowman to a match for tonight.

Ambrose and Miz are set to battle for the Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules next month, but on RAW they battled for General Managing supremacy. Joe then does it one last time and finishes the job with the Coquina Clutch.

If Dean Ambrose was going to throw his co-acting general manager on RAW The Miz into a match, then the A-Lister was ready to return the favour.

Today will be filled with Star Wars references and bad Yoda and Chewy impressions, but also a lot of deals and a lot of fandom. The first large organized event for the day took place on May 4, 2011 in the Toronto Underground Cinema.

Since The Hardy Boyz retained the Raw Tag Team Championships against Sheamus and Cesaro at Payback, the #1 Contender spot is wide open.

The damage done, Samoa Joe kept on brutalising Rollins and earned himself a disqualification, carrying on the attack and leaving the architect a mess in the middle of the ring. Joe wasn't done with the violence until he made Rollins pass out. He tries to attack Gallagher further after the match, but Austin Aries (wearing a knee brace) interferes and sends TJP packing.

Bray Wyatt def. Dean Ambrose via pinfall: The Miz's transition from the commentary table to the ringside area played a major role in the outcome of this non-title affair. Bray Wyatt then hit "sister Abigail" on Dean Ambrose to win the match.
