Ripa visited Seacrest at his home in Los Angeles, where he has lived for a long time, but his new schedule will require him to move to New York City.

The show will air at 9 a.m.in most markets, which will be a hard time zone for anyone as the upcoming show Today - which belongs to NBC - is on its way.

Megyn Kelly and Kelly Ripa are set to go head-to-head over the mid-morning TV audience starting in the fall and perhaps steal some thunder from the traditional morning shows on earlier. But the ending of American Idol gave that show's host less of a regular television presence. Seacrest lives in Los Angeles, but he has a home in Manhattan, and he's moving to NY to start the new job.

Yates says she warned White House that Flynn could be 'blackmailed'

"Live" is based in NY. The host of everything is already slated to host Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve this year once again.

Seacrest will continue to lead his nationally syndicated radio shows for iHeartMedia.

The seat next to Ripa was coveted by dozens of entertainment and news industry A-listers.

Kelly announced she was leaving her longtime network Fox News in January and joining NBC News, where she would host a daily morning show as well as a Sunday night newsmagazine show and anchor the network's political event coverage. Ripa was reportedly blindsided by the news.

She's been hosting Live! solo for some time, with several co-host candidates appearing on the show, including Jerry O'Connell and Fred Savage.

As Radar readers know, Ripa claimed she was completely blindsided by show executives when Michael Strahan announced his plans to leave the show for GMA last summer without informing her first.
