Chicago Bulls point guard Rajon Rondo is out for Game 6 of a first-round series with the Boston Celtics, according to team PR. A Bulls victory would force the series back to Boston for a decisive Game Seven on Sunday.
The Celtics are only minus-6 in rebounding and plus-18 in second-chance points over the last two games.
Kelly Olynyk scored 14 points off the bench for the Celtics, who closed the rebounding gap that the Bulls used to win the first two games.
The Bulls lost their cool late, with Dwyane Wade picking up a T as well.
"This whole group remains confident in everybody, from the first guy to the last guy", said Thomas, who shot just one-for-10 from beyond the arc but was ideal at the free-throw line, going 11-for-11.

Chicago's Isaiah did an admirable job limiting Boston's Isaiah on the offensive end during Wednesday's Game 5 matchup. They could have faltered in Game 5, when Thomas hit just 1 of 10 3-pointers and the team missed a whopping 50 shots on the night. I tried to stay out of foul trouble and eliminate letting Jimmy Butler get to the free throw line, that was my goal this game.
"I was just trying to be a little more aggressive on the offensive end", Bradley said.
Wade had 26 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. The head coach's response was "No", then he simply got up and left.
Wade has had to play through his share of injuries during his career, and although he wouldn't divulge whatever Butler was going through, it seemed as if they had a conversation about managing his body.
The Celtics started slowly on their home court, making just one of their first nine shots to fall behind 12-4. He has since leaned on his teammates for emotional support and is averaging 25.2 points per game in the series (albeit on 21 percent three-point shooting).
Tony Blair: Theresa May will be PM 'if the polls are right'
Tony Blair today refused to say "hand on heart" that Jeremy Corbyn would be the best person to lead Britain. Mrs May said the Conservatives had a "positive message and will fight a positive campaign".
Now as the series swings back to Boston for Game 5, Horford is confident the Celtics can top the Bulls at home for what would be their first home victory of the series.
But the defining play was a Thomas defensive rebound, with three "7-footers" hovering around the 5-foot-8 Celtics guard.
The host has won every game in this series so far.
Rondo has a fractured right thumb, and coach Fred Hoiberg says the backcourt catalyst is a "long shot" to play Game 6 against the Boston Celtics on Friday night.
